Safety & Security

Security Measures

At Holy Family Catholic School, the safety of our students and staff is a priority. We work closely with law enforcement officers to ensure our safety plan is current and effective. Our building is locked during school hours and can only be accessed via video security at our front door.

All adults working with children—whether teachers, volunteers, parents, or grandparents—have taken the Diocese of Boise’s Safe Environment program and have passed background checks.

Other securing measures include:

  • Building securing system activated when building is empty.
  • Building fire alarms.
  • AED, first aid, and CPR training for staff.
  • AED in gymnasium.
  • Fire extinguishers
  • Crisis plan in every room; crisis app on cell phones.
  • Panic hardware on classroom doors.
  • Schoolwide communication system.
  • Frequent emergency drills.

Parent Alerts

In an emergency or a school closure, HFCS uses our SIS program’s messenger system: FACTS Alerts. Families receive messages via text, email, and voice messages. We make every effort to keep our families updated in a timely fashion. However, the student’s safety is our first priority in an emergency.

Circle of Grace

The Diocese of Boise has adopted Circle of Grace, a Catholic Safe Environment Training Program developed by the Diocese of Omaha. The Circle of Grace program aims to educate and empower children and young people to participate in a safe environment for themselves and others.

Maintaining a Safe Environment

Holy Family Catholic School actively implements the Diocesan Safe Environment policies as a part of our whole-school safety plan. We hold our teachers, staff, parents, and volunteers to a high standard of continuing education and recurring background checks to ensure the safety of each individual at Holy Family Catholic School. To volunteer or work for the school in any capacity, any adult over the age of 18 must:
